Dear chess aficionado,
this is the DIGITAL DOWNLOAD version of the 2nd edition of The Chess Calendar. It comes with 25 pages of supreme quality printable art and with a foreword from Helmut Pfleger, GM. All featured photographs and drawings are made by and are intellectual property of Valokulta, Berlin, Germany.
Most of them originate from the Pikkukuva Lab in Berlin which is a dedicated macro photography studio.
International holidays and other dates noteworthy to remember are included in the calendar. While being generally neutral when it comes to faith I obviously couldn’t ignore my protestant european background.
Since 7-day-weeks are put on the 8×8 square chessboard you have an extended view of each month to come, so it’s more like one-and-a-half month per calendar page. Please let me know if I should add some important date in the next edition like p.e. a chess legend’s anniversary.
If you prefer to buy from a bigger platform, you will find The Chess Wall Calendar on ETSY as well., but not for download because the biggest single file size for downloads there is 20MB and I don’t want to break this up into 5 pieces. So make sure you have a good internet connection.
Any copy or print shop will happily print and bind these pages for you. 200g/m2 satinated paper recommended.
Btw: when printing double-sidedly, flipping on the long side is required, please ask the print shop guy.
If you wonder why the foreword is at the end of the bulk: if you do double-sided printing the foreword page would spoil the result if you don’t leave one page (p.e. the backside of the calendar cover) empty.
I hope you will have as much fun with this calendar in your home as I had creating it, wether it is on your screen or on your wall. And yes, of course it’s a perfect gift.
